about the founDer
Duke ‘28
Akshara Krishna is Duke student who is double majoring Neuroscience and Economics with an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate. She plans to pursue a career in venture capital as a growth strategist.
In high school, Akshara had many passion projects:
Founded 1st soft-skill mentorship program for 52+ schools & 43,000+ students in her county
Built a company that reached 4,000 students by organizing 100+ workshops that raised $15k to fund college education support, heart surgery, after-school soccer programs, cultural clothing and food in rural Tamil Nadu
Research in Organic Chemistry (isoindenone dimers) and Labor Economics (inter-generational mobility in US since 1940)
Built an AI piece recommender system to enhance management productivity for her violin lessons
Testing study techniques by doing a 3 month sprint to learn Japanese, Mandarin, and Tamil and taught what she learned.
By experimenting with multiple ideas, Akshara was able to build projects that came from the heart. She earned multiple merit scholarships and was a finalist for the Park and Levine full ride scholarships.
Failure is not an endpoint but a Launchpad for growth.
That’s why we developed a failure-forward curriculum using academic research in neuroeconomics and educational psychology
